Admission Procedure (Academic Session 2026-27)

Admission to Undergraduate programmes of Deshabandhu Mahavidyalaya, Chittaranjan shall be conducted through the Centralised Admission Portal (CAP) introduced by the Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal, in accordance with the guidelines issued by Kazi Nazrul University from time to time.

The college offers admission to the 4-Year Undergraduate Programme  under the framework of the National Education Policy (NEP 2020). Students may avail the provision of exit after successful completion of three years and obtain the relevant undergraduate degree, as per prevailing university regulations.

All eligible candidates are required to submit their applications through the Centralised Admission Portal within the prescribed timeline. No offline applications shall be entertained. Admission shall be strictly on the basis of merit, determined by the marks obtained in the qualifying examination (Higher Secondary or equivalent), subject to fulfilment of eligibility criteria and reservation norms as stipulated by the Government of West Bengal.

Procedure for Admission

• Submission of Application:
  Candidates must apply online through the Centralised Admission Portal by providing accurate and complete information.
• Exercise of Preferences:
  Applicants shall select courses and institutions in order of preference.
• Publication of Merit List:
  Merit lists shall be published centrally through the admission portal.
• Allotment of Seats:
  Seat allotment shall be made based on merit, preferences, and availability of seats.
• Payment of Fees:
  Provisionally selected candidates must confirm admission by paying the requisite fees within the stipulated period.
• Verification of Documents:
  Admission shall remain provisional until verification of original documents, to be conducted as per notified procedure.

All admissions are purely provisional and liable to be cancelled at any stage if any discrepancy is detected in the documents or information furnished by the candidate.

Candidates are advised to regularly visit the Centralised Admission Portal and the college website for updates, notifications, and instructions. The college authority reserves the right to modify or amend any part of the admission process in compliance with Government orders and University directives.
